![]() Mu’assasah al-Risalah, aka al-Risalah, and its offshoots: al-Risalah al-‘Alamiyyah and Mu’assasah al-Risalah Nashirun (all based in Damascus) with the former somewhat a direct successor with the same core research team led by shaykh Shu’ayb al-Arna’ut and the latter more commercially focused with less voluminous works.The best publishers are generally (in no order and with the caveat that each book depends on the editor more than the publisher, with good publishers having bad editions sometimes): As a rule one generally avoids commercial publishers such as Dar al-Kutub al-Ilmiyah (DKI), Dar al-Fikr, and Dar Ihya Turath al-Arab unless they have the only edition available. One thus needs to know the best available edition of each text. One familiar with the Arabic publishing world knows that editions of texts can vary considerably in their accuracy and quality.
